Having a problem with the HP Control Center for the MV5140, even though you can browse to the NAS drive in Windows Explorer and reach the Administrative Page in IE. ** Assumes you have a backup created ** :) 1. In SharePoint Portal, create a New Site 2. Set Template -> Blank 3. Open the new site in SharePoint Designer 2007 4. Go to Site -> Administration -> Restore Web Site 5. Select your backup file and let the wizard do its magic. The key is to create a new site and to ensure it is blank.

It's rather disturbing that the Left Side Navigation (Quick Launch) by default, does not display on new web part pages created in SharePoint. There are a number of workarounds on the web which include hacking each newly created page , or hacking an existing document template.
