FIX: Font Rendering in Firefox Not Crisp

by David Leibowitz | February 4, 2009 | Comments: 0

I was bothered that the font rendering was crunchy in FireFox as compared to Internet Explorer (IE). IE uses ClearType by default which is enhanced on an LCD display (like my laptop).

Firefox is much faster than IE for me, but the crunchy fonts make me cringe. Note that ClearType will smooth the edges, and too much of a good thing can be bad..it might get pretty smeared.

Download the Microsoft ClearType Tuner PowerToy to enable ClearType for all Windows apps, and to customize to your liking.
